So "thatguy" is right, and my last post did make me a liar. I want to feel all angsty about it, but I can't. The good news? The good news is that I passed my exam people. I passed! 3 out of 5 of the people in my year and genre did not pass--I was one of the two that did (those three get a "do-over," so it's not likely they will fail out of the program. Friend Two is one of these people, and his answers were excellent, but he got flagged down because of the way he tried to define the traditional canon).
Regardless, out of the three questions, I earned a "high pass" on two of them. I'm happy. I'm relieved.
So, more later (swear swear pinky-swear, thatguy). But for now, know that I'm almost officially an MFA graduate.

Congrats!!

Wow! Congratulations. It seems as though your exit exams were more comprehensive and complex than anything I had to do to get my MFA. I think the lack of pain I went through to get my MFA made me, in my masochistic way, choose to go on for my PhD--which really did hurt. It sounds like you won't need any more walloping, based on the sound one you took. 2 of 5 is so amazing. And high pass--well, high five to that.
